The Grand Rapids ECA Annual Picnic In The Park Is On May 17

One of the most anticipated events of the Grand Rapids community calendar is nearly upon us – May 17th is the Eastown Community Association (ECA) annual picnic and park clean-up day! This event is free and open to the public. It is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors, make new friends, and make a difference for everyone living in Eastown who enjoys our lovely park area.

About ECA
The Eastown Community Association is a nonprofit community organization chartered to provide opportunities for locals to meet, mingle, get to know each other, work on meaningful projects together, and become friends. From keeping the Eastown community safe to hosting volunteer trainings to spearheading annual special events like the annual picnic and park clean-up day, ECA makes a difference in our community every day.

May 17 Schedule
On May 17, the family-friendly festivities have been created with you and your family in mind. You can enjoy tasty food from local eateries, plenty of kids activities from face painting to a bounce house, great live music, and a day of celebration for the whole community. The event will start around 9am with the clean-up and continue with a community picnic at noon. You can stay and enjoy the music and activities until 3pm when the event wraps up for another year.

How to Volunteer
If you would like to serve as a volunteer for the May 17 picnic and park-cleanup day and other similar community events, your services are needed! In addition to the May 17th event, you can enjoy participating in planning and executing fun community movie nights, family days, and special events all year long.

Even if you cannot attend the May 17th event in person, you can still participate by making a charitable donation to the work of the ECA.
